UMP KPT 1 MALAYSIA RAFTING X PLORATION SEES ENCOURAGING IPT PARTICIPATION.pdf

The UMP-KPT Malaysia Rafting X-ploration in Pahang saw encouraging participation from the local institutions of higher learning (IPT) with thirty-ive teams, comprising 011 members, arriving at the last leg of the expedition in Pekan Riverfront. The 1 teams not only included ive teams from Universiti Malaysia Pahang (UMP) but also consisted of teams from private and nine other public IPTs, seven community colleges, three polytechnics, and one team from the Ministry of Higher Education (KPT). Held for the irst time ever from May to 1, the rafting exploration was a joint collaboration with KPT. The expedition started out at Kampung Kuala Triang and then moved on to Bera, Kampung Pesagi in Maran, Kampung Belimbing and Kampung Kiambang, Ganchong in Pekan and inally ended at Pekan Riverfront. All 1 teams congregated for two days on May and at the Kampung Bangau Tanjung Camp in Temerloh to decorate their rafts before being lagged off from the Esplanade by the KPT Deputy Minister, Dato’ Saifuddin Abdullah. Present at the lag-off were UMP ViceChancellor, Professor Dato’ Dr Daing Mohd Nasir Daing Ibrahim Temerloh District Oficer, Dato’ Dr Salehuddin Ishak and the Head of Temerloh Town Council, Dato’ ulkili Yaakob. According to Dato’ Saifuddin, organizing such rafting exploration showed the continuous synergy between the ministry and the various local academic institutions. “It is a relection of the spirit of unity that has acculturated among IPT students to literally, wade through all the obstacles Sungai Pahang offered. “
